Good track day video camera ??

Just wondering what people are using to record their days at the track. I have a pretty expensive video camera for home use and really don't want to take it to the track and worry about it getting dusty and scratched while being tossed around the pit table...lol

I'm looking for something relatively cheap and works well with YouTube.

Thanks guys.

I got a great deal on a creative 4GB Vado HD camera on ebay. ($40 shipped) It's very small, and records at 720p.

I just use my point n shoot Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7. Sweet zoom and shoots 720p as well.

I also have one of those cheap key fob cameras for in car shooting.

Ya, I have a cheap key fob camera too. Only thing with that is, you can't really see what you're shooting. I'm going to velcro it to the bill of my ball cap and see how that works. I was just looking for something else that I could use to record friends, or they could use to record me.

Here's a very short sample of the vado's video quality, before youtube re-encodes the video:

I got the same little camera you have/had Tim. The one off Ebay for less than $15. Quality is great. Just you don't know what you have shot until you upload it.

That's not the camera I'm talking about... it's this one:

And as cool as those keychain cams are, they are very, very far from being HD!

Although a bit pricier than you may want, the gopro. Durable and hd footage.

I have been seriously considering one of these. The only thing from stopping me is the wide angle lens. Going by all the sample footage I see on their site , it looks like things in the distance ( especially small RC cars ) would be hard to see. They seem to be more for closer range vid shooting.
