Rookie U-Can-Do 3D FlightFlex EP Dilemma

I really hope someone more experienced with RC electric flight can help me; I am very frustrated trying to get my U-Can-Do 3D FlightFlex EP to work properly. The maiden flight seemed fine, but the engine seemed weak and full power was required to keep it in the air. Since this first flight I have been unable to get the motor to "beep" or run. How do I test for a defective ESC and or motor?

Any help is greatly appreciated, Bert...

What motor and ESC are you using? Prop size? Battey size? You should be using a 11.1v 650-1000mh battery I have gone through 2 of these planes.
