Differential Oil
 

I have a Revo and the manual says to put in a thick 30K 50% filled "Differential oil" for lubrication. Are they referring to a grease or is this really an oil that they expect us to put in. Please let me know if anyone else has tried this.

I do not have a revo , however in buggies a diff oil is normally used. It is very thick silicone oil , typically the you would fill the diff 2/3 to 3/4 full . It comes in many different viscosities ranging from 1000 to 120 000 plus. By changing viscosity you can limit the diff action .

yes its silicone oil... you can find it at any hobby shop

So packing it with bearing grease is not advised? I opened the front and rear :confused: diff's and found no trace of any old just a small amount of grease.

you can pack it with grease if you want it won't hurt but to get the bese performance you should use the apropriate weight diff oil..

Ok, thanks for the info so I should be able to find this diff oil at any Hobby Store? Any weight you recommend? :D

----...... what happens if I almost filled it and a bit came out? will it be okay?

Also, people thought I was crazy for having 10 000 in the front of my SUT, is that okay? middle is 30 000 and rear is 5 000

ya i filled mine 100% is that bad ? i use 60k but i only have 2wd . kinda sucks onroad but offroad i am all hooked up .

For the Jato? I thought it had a ball diff?
