Ha ha that is a cute video from someones imagination. Probably a hard core gamer that has yet to experience real life outside of home and school.

The video makes a lot of assumptions,
IE:
  • All of NATO's combat fighters are all in one place
  • All of NATO's combat fighters are all neatly lined up because sitting ducks are the norm
  • All this during a state of war?
  • There is no CAP
  • There is no AWACS
  • The carrier is all alone and has no escorts
  • The carrier or its escorts have no phalax to defend it

Its a cute idea for a video game but something that big is impractical in real life. In the same scenario, how long do you think a big-as.s chinook would last trying to make the same attacks?

If you really want to scare me, make a video showing flocks of phantom sized drones piloting themselves into to parked air-force jets and blowing up when they get there. Make it even scarier if they network amongst themselves so that no 2 drones attack the same target. Now THAT is scary
(PS- the US is already working on such projects... so be scared)

Here's one example.

A couple of years age, I spoke to one of the guys on this project. He said that they were mainly developing the algorithms to control the swarm. Positioning info was from markers at known positions in the lab. The next step was to take it outside the lab where there are no markers.

Would be effective for surprise attacks and certainly would do a lot of damage. But yeah, completely vulnerable.
