I've seen a plane use one of the bigger Axis, Berhnard Crawley had one at Chilliwack.

What are you wondering about them?

I plan to put this motor in a 1/4 scale GeeBee R2 .I'm going to set up static amp draw at 50 to 52 amps on24cells.Just want to know if there is any vibration issues?reliabilty at high amp draws? I know it's a lot of motor rotating mass.Thanxs,

Well, you won't have vibration issues, and the realiability at the high draws is fine. The only thing you will have to worry about is your ESC and your batteries.

Alright,

Good article in Quiet Flyer about the Outrunner Axi - 5330/24

Quote:

The manufacturer suggests that about 40 amps is the safe operational limit for thismotor. It looks as though the 533/24 could be pushed to a higher current limit if one were to keep an eye on mtoro heating. During my battery of tests on the dynamometer, the motor ran well and without any startup issues or vibration.

This motor should work great in applications such as a large-scale airplane, where a large propeller must be turned at moderate to high power levels. I would caution you to be ccareful about exceeding the manufacturer's performance ratings, however, as earlier AXI motors have been damaged when the were overloaded. All in all, the new AXI 5330/24 out-runner is a very nice motor!

The author does have some graphs as well, and it looks like this paticular motor Amps at 45 or so, with 350 in torque/
