Hey Len, If we take your Magnum (pictured) we should be able to take an hour or so off the drive  Just fire up the fuzzzz-buster :P

I want to go as long as it does fall on my wifes B-Day this year. I'll check the link you posted.

You guys are lucky you have the option of driving to this show within reasonable distance. This weekend is the the N.W. model expo and I have elected to opt out this due to my huge dissapointment from last year.

Those boys need a tune-up and to get more booths in the show or it's going to die....

Paul,

I kind of had the same feeling about Toledo. I went for the second time last year and was a little disappointed. I must point out that the First time I went to Toledo was back in 1986! :yikes:

I don't know if it was because it was my first time or what but in the old arena it seemed a lot bigger and more crowded.

I was really disappointed last year with the Swap Shop. From everything i read it was huge. I didn't really think so. And seemed to be a lot more crap then usual at Swap Meets.

Another thing I noticed was the lack of models on display by modelers. There were tonnes in 1986... I guess it's a sign of the times what with ARF's. What was there though was outstanding... see below.

Well I think I am going again this year but not for all three days like last year. I think I will carpool with some guys in the club and drive out Friday night stay all day Saturday and drive home Saturday night.

Also this year I am going with a list. I spent a lot of money last year and didn't really come home with much to show, then I sold most of it cause I really didn't need it. :?

Some shots from Toledo 2005... Enjoy..

Just the place to spend my birthday money.... I'm thinking of staying over and trying to take in the auction but I figure that my wife would probably have "words" to describe that. May be a good idea to split the driving and the gas....

Been over ten years since I was last down there, and would like to spend more than an hour going through the show (my wife "really, really likes model shows") before the frustration levels peaked. Same sort of storm that day coming back to the border as we have going over Southern Ontario today.

That was my thought. Leave Friday morning then leave Sat after lunch or so. Or right after brekkie on Sunday? Isn't there an auction or something Sat evening?

5 and bit hours (definitely less in the gray rocket  ).

Maybe someone could post cheapo motels or sumpin? I remember someone saying a usual spot is about 1/2 hr away from the site itself. What about transportation to the site from that motel? Anyone?
