Charging HK Turnigy 1S 160 mah lipos

For those of you who have this battery, what charging rate do you use.

HK says that they can be charged at 10 C. Seems excessive to me.

I have several 1S lipos. Most are only 2C charge rated. I also have some Hyperions that are 5C rated and I routinely charge them at this rate with no issues.

I have never used Turnigy lipos. If they are the 'normal' ones, then 2C max.

HK says some Nano-tech's are good for up to 15C charge! :yikes:

Personally 5C is the max I would charge the Nano-Techs at.

I charge mine, 6 at a time at 1.8A or a little under 2C.

Are you sure HK said they can be charged at 10C? Can you post a link, I've never heard of that.

Here is the info on the max charge rate.

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=7301

Check max charge rate in the table at the bottom of the page.

Here is the link for the Nano-Tech 1S 160mAh:

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=11893

Look under the "Product Config Table" 1/2 way down.

'Max Charge Rate (C) 10'

Oh yeah if you're talking nano-tech then sure, too bad it seems like there's never any stock.

P.S. I can charge 6 of these (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=10980) in about 25 mins so its not too bad :)

I am thinking that might be a typo at 10c for the normal Turnigy 160mah 1's.

I like other posters charge 6 at a time through a charging harness and at only 1c.
For our indoors I like to precharge the night before so all I am doing the next day is swapping batteries and flying. Just less items to bring!:)

I'm really looking for comments from people who are actually using this battery.

I just charge mine on the e-flite Celectra 4-port charger. They don't take that long to charge. I would never try to pump 10C into one of those little cells.

15C is approved by the manufacturer. I see no issue with it at all. From what i understand the chemical makup is difrent from the std lipo packs.

all of my 2c packs get charged at 5c without issue
