Project Rubicon Rock Crawler! UPDATED 03/21/06
 

Well finally got most the pieces I need to start my project.. Bruiser chassis, TLT axles, Moabs, Lathe motor all arrived... Bought some aluminum for making tranny mounts, as well as front bumper with winch and read bumper with spare tire rack.. Also custom built roof rack to fit the rubicon body.. Just waiting on my Rubicon body and aluminum for making my links.. Also have a stampede tranny on the way and ordering up a LRP Runner Plus waterproof esc in the next couple days!! Will post more pics as stuff arrives and progress continues.. This is just a teaser!

Is that the standard 55T lathe motor?

I ordered two 65T for my next project.

Yep.. standard integy 55t lathe... bought 2 of em thinking I would put them in my clod crawler.. but decided its slow enough with the gearing I have in it.. so now have an extra 55t lathe

is that an original bruiser chassis? if so WHY?!?!?!?!? lol make a copy and lock that baby up!

bruisers r very hard to come by... im sure u could get $$$ for it....

hmmmm.. I just got it too.. 100 bucks for the chassis and tlt axles... and came with bruiser leaf springs and shackles that I was gonna sell since I have no use for those..

this project looks really sweet... make sure you post pics of the build.. :D

i know nothing about crawling, but that chassis is beautiful !! its just like a real car chassis. i would love to see somebody take a chassis like that and make an exact copy of an old musclecar rc sized (1/10 would be cool). so awsome.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys.. I think this is going to be one of my best projects yet.. I will be taking more pics as it goes along.. I should start fabbing parts on friday.. and will get as many pics as possible.. If anyone out there has any scale size gas cans, shovels, fire extinguishers or anything like that for 1/10th scale and wants to part with em.. let me know.. Need some stuff to put in the roof rack when its all done!
