Carbon Fiber prop balancing

What is the best way to balance a carbon prop, as far as adding or removing weight?

I am not sure you would want to remove any weight on a carbon prop, for fear of damaging the finish or structure.
One good way to add weight is by paining the tips. A nice bright colour will help with seeing the prop disk when running (For safety it's a good idea)

Another method is to use spray on lacquer on the back side of the light blade.
To balance the hubs I use either velcro and CA glue... or aluminum foil tape for AC ducts.

I paint clear paint on the back of the prop that is lighter. No one notices, and works everytime! Thats how ive done all of mine

If you don't want to paint or sand your prop try a prop ballancing ring. ballance prop with ring then mount. I just tried one and it was the easiest ballance job on a prop i have done. Phil

Digging up old posts here but this seemed to be rather relevant.

What do you do when the hub requires more weight than the Velcro holds in ca? I have a Mej 32" that appears to need a chunk of lead to balance the hub, will the stick on wheel weights work or too much danger? I am quite sure that the set screws in a balance ring would not be enough to do the job.

try this, I use it with my DLE 55. It is also largerer then the stock hub so it covers the whole hub with no crushing. Hobby King also sells them.

I may have to buy a balance ring to see if it is enough but just not sure??

Any other ideas?

how bad is the balance? this balance ring adds more weight then aluminum tape and doesn't come off. it comes with 7 set screws but you can always add more and longer ones if needed. this thing is perfect for out of balance hubs. If not, get a new prop.
