Pet Peeves and Insults

The intent of this thread is not to start debates or arguments but a venue to air those little things that get under our skin from time to time in this great hobby!
So lets keep it to things that will bring a nod and a grin please! Brevity would be good too.
I will start with these:

A neighbour who leans over the fence & says "I see you are playing with your TOY airplanes again!"

Someone who says "Look! A remote control airplane"! No, I left the control line one at home, this one has a RADIO!

Fellow modelers that on seeing my latest scratch built plane ask "Is that an ARF?"

This should be fun!

Nitro motors. Especially the motor part.

They are GLOW, and they are ENGINES:D

Quite a few run fuel that doesn't even have nitromethane in it. They have a glow plug.

And, if there is a fire involved, it is an engine.....whether it is a glow, gas, turbine, heck even STEAM....if there is a fire...it is an ENGINE:D

Motors are something that gets its power from electricity, not fire. (Well, there are 'hydraulic' motors, but those are industrial machinery, and some large airliners use them for flap actuators).

I like the comments like" how fast does it go?" Also"how high can it go?''

I have to agree with the Motor vs. Engine. it ticks Me when I read these posts about their cool new Giant Scale Big Gas Motors. One would think when you get to this level of Assembly and Flying you would know the correct terminology.

Sorry, but an engine is a motor

Dictionary definitions are one thing. In real life in any mechanical sort of field, if there is combustion, you call it an engine. Even if it is 'technically' a form of motor as per some dictionary, it is an ENGINE.

When was he last time the 'check motor' light came on in your car?
