RCC delivery on duty!

This idea started as a quip about Canada Post.
Here is some text from my post LOST IN THE MAIL.

Yes Canada Post has gone way down hill.
I am almost ready to start up the pony express from the old west.

I am going to Stayner and also over to the Orangeville area. What an oportunity to deliver or pick up things for local fliers or people on my route.
I'll have to think about posting things like this. RCC delivery on duty!

On the serious side it would be pretty tough to do it without a fair bit of advanced planning but it could work out well with the guys who go to contests. Just arrange to meet at the scale contest in Lindsay for example.

Maybe this isn't as crazy as I thought.
When I go to a different field or take a trip I like to meet up with modelers.
I usually ask my friends if they have anything they want me to deliver for them.

For example.

Once in a while I go from Whitby to Peterborough.
I meet with the guys from the Peterborough club.
If I posted it prior to going then anyone wanting me to deliver something to someone in that club can get it delivered free. The package has to be reasonably small as I usually take my car.

It doesn't matter if the receiver of the package isn't there as one of the guys will accept it and forward it to him.

I once picked up a plane from Popcan in PEI. Made a vacation out of the trip, which was in January. My wife loved it. We stopped at Ottawa and picked up some RC stuff. Took the van that time as the plane was 1/4 scale.

I'll see if I can add my route map to an RCC post for my trip to Stayner and beyond.
