Yours Bill? Wing span? Engine used? Very nice flyer!

Gee Bill, do you realize that I was all of one year old when the Red Zephyr first took to the air?
I was interested to see how very nicely it took off in spite of the wheels far forward, as was the practice those days to save the hand-carved prop!
I also see you have a 4-stroke in it, what size?
Thanks for sharing that video and that of the Fiske, of which I had never heard.
Regards, Cedric.

The voice on the video says it was an OS .26. I got one of these kits by Ben Buckle last year and I suspect I'll have to downsize the intended engine for it after seeing the video.

Looks like quite the relaxing flyer.

Thanks

Bob

Ya guy's the engine is an OS 26 fs and the span is 66". Just a tad over 2lbs.
I have another that flys just as nice and I have an OS 20fs on that one.
Photos below of the two.
This was a Spirit of Yesteryear kit not a Ben Buckle, the BB kits are much heavier.

Sorry Bill, hardly ever turn on the sound for these sorts of videos. So I missed that.

A friend of mine actually recorded that off the original record and played from an antique gramaphone.

Another example of my failing hearing - could hear the engine size question being asked on the video but try as I might, could not hear a reply! So put in those ear plugs guys, yes even when flying!

The 26 handles her very nicely Bill! I used to get 45 to 50 minutes on 6 ounces of fuel at part throttle cruising with my 26! The new 30's are a lot thirstier than that.
