which prop??
 

For my TF.60 Corsair I am going to run a 3 blade prop. My engine manual recommends a 12X6 2 blade, which will convert to what in a 3 blade?? 11X7? 11X8?

Im not looking for too much speed, just enough power to fly around casualy.

It is a well known fact that a three blad prop is NOT as efficient as a two blade . And add to the fact that a three blad prop gives you more of a chance to stall at low speeds , when throttleing down . ( I think I got that right )

You will want to drop to a 10" diameter prop;) or get a larger engine to turn the larger 3 blades.

As per Zinger, drop the diameter by one and keep the pitch. So 12x6 coverts to 11x6 three blade.

OK. The plans on the kit also recommended 12X6 which is what I have. (see pics below) But this prop looks way small for the airframe??

I might just have to break down (and the piggy bank) and get a BIGGER engine:rock:

Oh and BTW, Im not going to run that old prop, its just one I had laying around.. its kinda damaged:(

Looks fine to me. Just a large cowling. Remember that the prop is pulling the plane more than pushing it. If you look at the Gee Bee's they have props that are hardly any bigger diameter than the cowling. Should be fine.

Right on!! I will keep to a 12X6 2 blade. I have several new ones to choose from.

You can follow Zingers recommendations if you wish.

I have spent a lot of time and money on 3 blade props for engines from.90 glow to 150cc. It does not work by simply dropping an inch in diameter;)

Your best bet is to stick to 2 blade unless noise is an issue.Or you install a large enough engine that it'll power your plane with a 3 blade the same way your current engine will on a 2 blade.

You didn,t mention what engine you were going to put in it . That is also a facture . BTW , the two blad prop looks great and also the cowling .
