And remember too that this event is the MAAC Northern Ontario zone fly this year too and the zone trophy and a keeper trophy will be awarded to the winner on Saturday.
Im very pleased that the NIPMAC club bid on the zone fly this year as its a really nice way to start winding down a very sucessful ,busy and enjoyable year in the North.
See you there............

What a weekend! Good weather, rain held off till the last plane was packed, then sunny again in the morning. Big Thank you to all that travelled from Timmins, Tri-towns, Sudbury ,the Soo, TO etc. Also to the hard work by the fellow NIPMAC members especially to chef Gerry W. for putting on such an excellent supper. Gerry Tremblay won the 20th awarding of the zone trophy for his 1/3 Sopwith pup, Congratulations!

Kevin McGrath 08-28-2005 03:22 PM

Well actually the way it will read on the trophy is Gary Tremblay, who is from the Timmins club, and he sure deserved it and there was some really stiff competition for the honors too.
Gary,s Pup is from from the BUSA 1/3 scale kit,and uses a Zenoah 80cc twin converted to electronic ignition and is one of the smoothest running engines I have ever seen.Finish is sprayed latex and the detailing would be right at home at a full bore scale contest.
Gary is an accomplished pilot too and handles a full blown IMAC model with ease so the Pup is at its best in the air and flies in a smooth realistic manner.
%#2xx* :censored: Cecil put a wake up call in for 6am Sat so by the afternoon my brains were mushier than normal and I forgot to get the trophy back from Gary to get the engraving done ,so Gary we have to figure out a way to get the trophy upgraded and your keeper trophy made up.( I got a call from Craig Knight just now who made a nice catch and brought the trophy back to the Sault)
Anyone visiting the North bay area should make a point of viewing the NIPMAC cranberry field (yes they have more than one field) We are talking about golf green grass ,and two smooth intersecting runways, and some of the best and most attractive catch fencing I have seen and not overly expensive either.
Wayne Quirt and his merry men pulled off another winner this year folks and the steak dinner was great as always..........
