Nice find James. But I would think I would find it very difficult to fly the plane and be looking here and looking there.

Impressive nevertheless.

HA HA HA You could end up so far away, you might never get back. At least you would see what you hit. It would look like one of those cruise missile videos

My son was over for dinner this evening and had it on his laptop. Couldn't wait to show me. He's a real techno freak (makes me look like a Ludite!) and was impressed by it.

Blew me a way as we've been talking about this for ages, just don't know where to get the necessary bits at a price we could afford.

When I just got back into the hobby last year, I found a bunch of threads on guy's that did this. They flew via a video link. One guy had posted about how he was flying a slowstick or something, with one of these cameras on it, and he was so engrossed with the video, he forgot to watch his plane. He was out of sight before he realised, called his wife out to watch for the plane, and he flew landmarks back to his neighbourhood.

www.rccams.com has a bunch of info about this stuff, and it doesn't seem all that expensive.

The first time I tried the link above it worked. Wanted to show a co-worker, and it wouldn't work anymore. Did some poking around and discovered the video on Google video; with a whole bunch more!!!

Below are links to SOME of the files, and before we get carried away about this guy's choices of flying locations, (which many of us will find questionable) let's just concentrate discussion or comments on Jim's original thread topic: a cool application of technology OF WHICH I WANT SOME!

That was incredible!! I imagine it would be easy to push the range of our radio systems with something like this... You would have an even better view hanging off of a chopper!! :D 8)

The pilot is in Montreal, and uses the name Vrflyer on rc-cam.com forums.

Double letter bonus for getting the URL correct?
