MDS are excellent engines..... they got a bad rep.... but most people dont understand that these are built in russia.... where nitro is very very hard to get..... so they are designed with very high compression ratios to run on low nitro content.... people who try to operate these engines on 10-15% fuels... get bad pre-ignition when it heats up.... I have a few and they all run excellent. But i have to admit.. that although they have the new carb.... it still needs work.... a perfect low speed needle setting will yield a rich midrange mixture..... almost impossible to get it perfect. Put a thundertiger carb on and the engine will out horsepower any in its class.
