As for a 50cc, you don't have to go crazy, but your servos you mentionned is maybe not enough. I used 7955 on my 100cc and it's fine but on my 50cc I used HD9150 good servos with lots of torqueand economical. For batteries, one A123 2s 2100mah for the electronics no regulator and a 2100mah 4.8v nihm for ignition no regulator with an electonic kill switch. Simple and effective is the key to success, keep it light! In conclusion like Colin already mentionned, no expander!
