It's the other way around; most foamies are electrics.

Those who make conclusions about electric powered aircraft based on foamy-ARFs, are not aware of what electric power is today.

At our club we fly electric models up to about 25 pounds. Most models are large and are built of balsa. There are large ARFs, many Hangar 9 warbirds and quarter-scale models.

Any glow or gas model can be powered by electric motor. The two main differences being that it'll be less noisy, and throttle response will be significantly faster.
