i dont know anything about onroad but if tires do not use foams and tires are rubber and sit on rim(no sidewalls) it will be fine. You know the little gold thumbtacks i mean? if you need thumb tack head to sit tighter on rim use hot glue it will go hard and be fine. Also dont forget you have to bend the head of each thumbtack just a little and make the spikes directional for better handling they WILL work better than straight spikes but after 10 runs or so you may have to twist some back into shape.
