True that 4-strokes require less oil, but a lot is due to the lower RPM.

On the opposite side, you only lube the bottom end with what gets by the ring so helping that along can't hurt.

The problem I see with 4-strokes is not a lack of lube, but the contaminants it holds at the end of the flying session. No active flow and temp changes means you have a corrosive mix there eating away at all those nice ferrous bits.

My biggest complaint is the loss of castor in modern fuel, (my last holdout switched within the last year to all synth). Yes, it may be cleaner and easier to wipe off. However, synth doesn't tolerate a lean run or inadequate cooling in a cowled app like castor.

And by design 4-strokes run hotter. Not because of all the extra moving bits. The reason is the lack of airflow through the case and beside the jug on the way up to the combustion chamber.
