It works very well. The unit has equal voltage settings from the factory which you can change if desired but I just used a longer extension on one and that battery drains a little slower then the other. That way I can tell how the flight system is performing (excessive loading). I use two 450mAh 2S batteries for it and I find that a typical 6:30 flight will use about 50 mA. You may want to run larger batteries for a larger servo installation. 2x1000mAh 2S would be fine. I think more people than not are using a battery exclusively for the ignition on most large/expensive airframes.

Very, very cool project!! I have a huge soft spot for big bipes.
