It all depends what you call a " good " engine. You can buy a JetCat p120
with little time for less than $2500. and that is a current engine.
If you are willing to settle for an older air start engine the prices are much lower.
The point I'm trying make is you don't have to spend 3-4 grand to get a good reliable engine.
