Also, if the leak is fast enough, doing this in a very quiet workshop can help a lot too, as you will be able to hear the leak, which helps to figure out the general location.
And yes, I have a wee bit of experience with pneumatic retract systems. I've been using them in DF and turbine jets since '95.
