Push the red thumb button on the radio, lol.
Seriously, on top of the transmission, there are two selectors.
The one with the H/L indicators is the High/Low transmission selector and adjusts the overall range of the tranny.
The other one should be connected to the reverse/forward selector servo. When you push the red putton on the radio, you should see the reverse servo pivot over to the opposite side. If the servo is not moving, that would explain your issue. If the servo appears to be moving completely from one extent to the other, something may be binding inside the tranny.
The best advice I have for any truck with revers is to get the forward only kit and eliminate all of issues related to reverse.
