Hell, 3 1/2 pounds ain't bad. Sounds about right to tell you the truth. My 1/3 scale Sopwith Pup needed 9 pounds to balance with a Zenoah G-62 on it. With the longer nose on the DH-4, 3 1/2 pounds sounds correct. With all that wing area and power, you'll never notice the weight. On the other hand, leave the weight off, and you'll notice it right away, in a bad way!
