I don't have a leveling tool, and don't think I'd personally find it that useful. If you start with the linkages at the prescribed length in the manual, set your pitch curve linear, put your stick in the center, servo arms at 90 degrees and check your blades for zero pitch you should be good to go.

Adjust out any subsequent drift/trim with the links and you're done. You can get surprisingly close with your eyeballs. I'm not sure how (if at all), a swash leveling tool accounts for the tail thrust compensation, as your swash will end up ever so slightly tilted against the tail thrust - left or right depending on your heli.
