Lipo and Brushless is a good upgrade, but you will have to buy a brushless ESC when you buy the brushless motor. The brushed ESC you have right now though compatible with Lipos, it wont work with a brushless motor.

Also, if you do go to lipos, you will also have to buy a proper lipo charger as well.

Between Brushless motor/brushless ESC, Lipos and Lipo charger it might seem like a lot of cost to make the switch. But sooner or later you will probably go to lipos. You might as well start now.
