For my four star canopy I only used 1 pack of the dye and hottest tap water I could get. Someone on RCU said to add salt to the mix, which I did, and it worked great! Didn't really measure the amount though, just kind of poured some in. Maybe that was the trick.
Only left it in for half hour or so!
