if you are talking giant scale, go gasoline! Gas engines can make smoke like no glow engine can, and do it at nearly any RPM. Glow ignition engines really only make decent smoke reliably at higher rpms so when you are in a spin, or other low throttle maneuver you cannot make good smoke, at least in my experience.

I remember when I put smoke in my Moki 180, the engine would quit unless it was above 2/3 throttle. Smaller engines even worse...

Since Gassers use spark ignition, and generally run hotter, they smoke MUCH easier and better.
