The Flip 3D is the cream of the crop for a 40 size 3D machine. Its extremely well built, and is also built light. Mine is about 5.2 lbs with a YS 63 and standard size servos around, with nearly 1000 sq in of wing it really floats. It does everything well, and has no bad tendancies that I have ever ran across.

My setup:
YS 63 FZ
APC 13x4W prop @ 12,000 rpm on 30% nitro
Futaba 9151 servos (use at least 70 in-oz on the ailerons as they are huge). I have used as small as a 9650 which are fine for the tail but no good for the ailerons. I destroyed those servos on ailerons in about 60 flights.
Futaba R149DP receiver
Apogee 2s 1570 lipo battery
Tru-Turn 2.5" spinner

I have well over 100 flights on this plane and its seriously abused I built the whole thing stock, the only thing I did not use from the kit were the hinges.

I have also toyed with converting this model to E-power as I think it would be an excellent candidate.

IMO the best 40 size extreme 3D machine made.
