If it puffed, it's dead. It was overcharged, and lipo's will not tolerate overcharging (or overdischarging.)

That charger looks like an accident waiting to happen. I've never seen a wall wart charger for a lipo. What do the instructions say on how to charge your lipo with that charger?

All the lipo chargers I have seen are microprocessor controlled so that they can determine how much the lipo has been charged and will not overcharge them.

It's unfortunate that your first experience with lip's has turned out this way. But don't get discouraged. Lipo's are a great battery technology, but they do require some knowledge (just as nicd's and nmhd's do.)
