The cowl rings have been lightened and installed on the fuse with a 1/8" spacers on the backsides and hardpoints in the fuse so that nothing will compress.
If you look closely, you'll see how I've built up the rings with strips of plywood / epoxy so that they match the contours of the fuse until the cowl is perfectly flush. This is a tedious process and I've still got another couple hours of detailed work before I can glue the cowl onto the rings -
