Here are some facts.

There were no fewer than 6 people on the flight line at the time of Jon's loss of control. He was IN FACT able to make several passes with the plane at full power and IN FACT even stated loudly " Hey, Kelly I have no throttle response. I am stuck at full throttle." I was spotting on the flight line and even had the time to glance over TO NOTE THAT HIS THROTTLE STICK WAS IN THE FULL LOW POSITION.

As such, I cannot agree that receiver or transmitter battery low is to blame. Clearly he had control of the aircraft flight surfaces until he lost orientation. Fail safe was not an issue. I have heard of rare instances where the throttle control had been lost ( RAM and JetCat ) most recent at this years World Masters. In Jon's case there is little to nothing left to postmortum but those that were present witnessed a very unusual event.
