Cycling a battery does one other important thing IMO. It gives you a chance to see in what kind of condition they are in. If is says 1500 mAh, the only way to see that it takes the 1500 mAh is to discharge it fully (leaving the required volt/cell) and then fully charging them. That is if you have some way to see how much you put in them when charging, wether it is built into your charger or you have a meter that measures mAh such as the AstroFlight volt/watt metter. You would never get this by topping up the battery. Yes, Lipo do not seem to loose very much charge.
