The crazy part of the scheme, other than proving that a Popular Science wing-in-ground or flying-boat concept actually works, is that the stealth capabilities are probably close to reality. Just enough meatal to keep everything together and provide the thrust, and radar does have problems picking up small objects at low level.

Put a couple hundred pounds of C4 into the vehicle, and you'll start making the navies of the world take notice.

Of course, with the current generation of anti-missle gunnery, if the radar does get a lock-on, you're looking at so much shredded plywood floating on the water......
