Its good to hear that you made the right decision to upgrade, rather than getting frustrated with rotory wing! I actually forsaw the difficulties (we'll see how many I anticipated when I actually get flying this thing!) of buying the heli, so I'm trying not to expect too much. Basically I hadn't planned on getting into rotory this year, and didn't want to "blow the bank" on anything too pricey. I look at this heli as a "taste" of rotory wing, without collective pitch or even good mechanics. I more-or-less just picked it up because it was cheap and I can't afford anything better for the time being.

The way I saw it, I was thinking of buying a Picco Z knockoff off of the internet just for some fun (~50), and this (100+Receiver) has gotta be miles ahead of a Picco Z!
