Aaahhhh true!! BUT!!! The Arrow was going to be replaced with missles (the Bomark if I recall) Those missles were essentially dumb compared to these unmanned fighters they're talking about, plus they are supposed to have a command data-link with controllers on the ground. Once the missle was fired there was no way to recall it. Once it was fired, the target died. With the unmanned fighter, the controller can investigate the target from the ground and make the ultimate decision on whether to open fire or not.
Image some wiseguy in a Cessna 172 trying to evade a fighter that can do +25 or -19 G turns
