That was my Mustang just before impact, at my clubs Warbird Funfly a couple of weeks ago.
This plane had a few hundred flights and it was my best flying and landing warbird.
As I came from a dive at full speed at the end of the runway I pulled up but did not expect to find the P-40 just above me.
My Mustang’s rudder fin sliced the left wing off of the P-40. My whole tail section ripped off causing total loss of control of my plane.
There was nothing left. The picture was taken seconds before they made contact.
If you are going to go, go out with style, the crowd loved it.
On the lighter side of things, the Minister of Finance (the wife) has approved the replacement of this bird and with the help of a friend ( thanks Mike) we should have a new one ready and flying in no time.
