This is "the winter of our discontent", we got hit with a quadruple whammy

1) Stock market dropped by 40%
2) My wife got laid off and decided it was time to retire
3) One of her hips gave out and she sees the surgeon in two weeks
4) Furnace heat exhanger cracked so we had to get a replacement NOW

Fortunately, we won't have to dip into her RRSPs for a while so that will give time for market recovery to kick in.

Any new purchases are funded by saving nickles,dimes,quarters plus eBay/online sales plus swap meets.

As Igor said, park flyer bashing will be the way to go.
