Just for the record ethanol IS alcohol, one of many in the family. Ethyl alcohol (or grain alcohol) to be precise, is the same stuff you've been consuming over the holidays.
Methanol aka Methyl alcohol aka wood alcohol will make you blind or dead if consumed and Isopropanol aka isopropyl alcohol aka 2-propanol aka rubbing alcohol is used diluted for giving back rubs amongst other things.
