Re: What is happening to IMAC in Canada?
Enjoy then while they are young Tyler, they grow up too quickly and the years will disappear on you, you can always come back when you have time and money. Kids are expensive but need to be your priority. Hope we see you back soon.
Well said Don. I was just talking to a friend out at our field this morning. He has been practicing but did not think he was ready to make the big jump. I told him the hardest part is getting that plane out of the car at the first contest. Just get over that psychological hurdle and make up your mind to do it. Once you do chances are you will be pleased with your accomplishment and realize that you should have jumped in sooner. I offered to coach my friend to help him make the jump by Jim's contest in Hamilton, I hope he does it.
As Brendan said it is great to see some new folks in Basic this year and it is exciting to see the numbers for NOIC who want to give it a try. I don't think I will ever forget the smile on Ariel's face in Chatham when she flew her first round in the contest. And being so excited that she had everyone sign her T-shirt with a Sharpie pen so she would have a keepsake from her first contest. That was a memory for sure.
One thing to consider is that you don't need to have aspirations to ever fly at the Advanced or Unlimited level to get enjoyment from IMAC. I know several people who are perfectly content to fly Sportsman year after year and have done so for a number of years. They just enjoy getting out and participating and enjoying seeing their friends. Nothing wrong with that. Personally I never thought I would make it to Intermediate but have managed to get here and doubt I will ever make it to the next level, but that is perfectly fine, I get tremendous satisfaction out of what I have accomplished in the past 7 years and look forward to every season.
