I can vouch for using windex, the acetone method, and for UltraCote.

However, I haven't tried to combine the windex and the acetone

I will give that a try when trying to put together black and pink checker board on the underside of my Hog Bipe. I will be using a pink base and putting the black squares onto it. Hope it turns out well and holds up.
