I'm told the Cannister provides for better engine performance and power so I hope its worth all the extra work of installing a Can as opposed to the regular muffler! I'm sure we shall find out!
I too have a MTW Cannister but mine is different from yours. My Cannister has the output exhaust pipe at the front of the Can whereas yours is at the rear! I hope I have the right Can for my engine???

Gary - thanks for all the tips. I went and downloaded the Yak manual just to have a look. Wow, they are different !! Yours ends up totally open with a closed tunnel. Very interesting differences.
You said you have the front exit exhaust, that looks right according to the manual. As I recollect you are running the DL-50. I basically just phoned DA and told them what plane and let them recommend the can. What I have is what they sent.
I am using the can mainly for noise reduction, however I see references to 200-300 rpm gains in some cases. As you said, we shall see if this is worth all the effort.
Good day to be working on the planes ----- not a great day for flying, except on a sim ......
