The 2010-2011 SOS Series is a go! We're still working on dates but its looking like this:
Race #1- Sarnia Cancer Race, November 13th
Race #2- Lou's Speedway, December 4th
Race #3- St Catherines, January 9th
Race #4- Action Hobbies Kingsville, February 5th
Best 3 our of 4 races count towards the Championship with a 5 point bonus to racers that race all 4 races in the same class.
Classes will be as follows:
17.5 Rubber Touring Car
-Any 17.5 brushless or 27 turn brushed motor.
-Open ESC
-And 2 cell hardcase 7.4 volt LiPo or 6 cell NIMH
-Jaco Blue tires only
-Minimum weight 1400g
-Minimum ride height 5mm
-ROAR Rules apply to everything else
17.5 1/12th Scale
-Any 17.5 brushless or 27 turn brushed motor.
-Open ESC
-1 Cell Hardcase Lipo
-Minimum weight 730g
-Minimum ride height 3mm
-ROAR Rules apply for everything else
Mini
-Tamiya TCS Rules except for following:
-Any Body designed for M-Chassis use
-Orion or Reedy 2400 LiPo, or 3000 NIMH or lower.
-A spec power system will be used. The only motor and ESC allowed will be the Hobbywing EZRUN-35A ESC and the 13T@3000KV motor. These have been rebadged by other manufacturers and they are legal as well.
-Sealed sliver can johnson motors are still allowed, any gearing.
-Spec pinion sizes for Brushless will be 16T for M03/M05, 17T for M04. Using brushed motor, 20T for M03/M04, 21T for M04.
Vintage TransAm 21.5/25.5
-Any 4wd 1/10th scale Touring Car chassis
-Any 21.5 or 25.5 brushless motor allowed
-Any 0 Timing ESC (ex. Novak Havoc) or any Advanced timing ESC’s with Spec Programs (ex Tekin RS/RS Pro) are allowed.
-All other rules as per USVTA found here: (usvta website)
-21.5 and 25.5 cars will be run together but scored separately and have separate championship points.
SCAR 25.5/17.5 Oval
-200MM Pan Car Chassis
-MINIMUM WEIGHT - 1,000 Grams [17.5 Single 930 Grams]
-BATTERY - ORION 2400 LIPO Battery Part#14104 or #14007 [17.5 Sungle any 3.7V Single LIPO]
-MOTOR - NOVAK 25.5 SS Brushless Motor Part##3425V or NOVAk Ballistic 25.5 Part #3625V [17.5 Single – any 17.5 Brushless]
-SPEED CONTROL - Novak Havok 2S Sport ESC Part Number 1732 [17.5 Single – any ESC]
-TIRES - JACO Spec Tires (#JAC2100 Front #JAC2110 Rear) / CRC Spec Tires (#CRC2300 Front # CRC2302 Rear) BSR Spec Tires all these tires are similar compound.
-BODY - Any NASCAR style body (COT, HD or Truck)
