Re: Carleton University New UAV Inquiry

Hi Mike,

The reason for electing the Piper Pawnee is for size and accessibility. The aircraft will be used for geomagnetic surveying research, and the magnetometers need to be mounted at least a meter away from servos or anything metal. The sensors and payload will be quite heavy and require as substantial amount of room inside the aircraft for placement. The aircraft will also need to be able to fly slowly, and remain steady under moderate wind conditions. The Hanger 9 33% scale Piper Pawnee seems to fit the bill for these requirements.

Sincerely:

Jason Hlaing
