a neat little trick for this is heat the carb with a heat gun(same one you use for shrinking covering) ,don't need to go crazy just warm it up and the goo will soften enough to get it moving with some oil ,then take it apart and clean further . this will also work with a stuck piston .try to remove any O rings first to save them .
