Mr TLyttle,
Using that same logic, I should fear anyone buying a model airplane of any type and trying to learn to fly it. It is a disaster waiting to happen is it not? Why is it any more dangerous to try and hover a model plane at the necessary distances (we are following all MAAC rules remember) than learning to fly - period?

I remmeber when I was learning to hover a plane. I was NEVER a menace to anyone, myself included.

Once again, I will ask this question, but I fear I will not get a serious answer other than your opinion that you personally think it is dangerous.

WHAT MAKES IT MORE DANGEROUS THAN ANY OTHER FLYING THAT YOU PERCEIVE AS OK??
