John, they are most always dome shaped to clear the struts on the electrice starter, and also to give it some strength so the screen itself won't be sucked into the compressor. I suppose you could form the screen over a block, then clamp it. I know that loose screen does not work at all.

Gary...what is the diameter of the nose cover on your MW? Wanna make sure it fits.

Dennis, I've checked out Home Outfitters - which is Sear's fancy home place, but nothing there. I like your grommet idea...we were using O rings which works, but is not as clean looking as your set up....
