Tex, mine was balanced at 190 mm back of the notch, or 220 from the LE. As you say, the instructions have a drawing with the measurement from the notch, and another with the same measurement from the LE.

From what I've read it isn't that critical as to which you choose- to be on the safe side I chose the LE, and it flew fine. This CoG was as far forward as I could manage, frankly- the lack of nose gear/servo and addition of a rudder servo caused this, I imagine.
