Tattoo, I live in a small town with one machine shop and they use little or no aluminum I can get all the steel I want but have to order in my aluminum myself.

Thats where living in a city is a plus, many machine shops to be had and like you said, you make friends with one of them and you are set for all your needs.

I run a woodworking shop and trade off woodwork for sheetmetal and some other stuff when needed its the best way to deal!!
